Monday is Madison Parks Day at the Duck Pond

The Madison Parks Division and the Madison Mallards are celebrating National Parks and Recreation month on Monday, July 16.

Maynard and Mallards players will be at Goodman Pool from noon to 1:00 p.m. with a chance to win tickets for that night's game.

Duck Pond events before the game include the Big Rig Gig, where kids can see, touch, and crawl around in trucks, tractors, and bull dozers.  The Goodman Pool Waves Swim Team, who participates in the All-City Swim Meet later this month, will receive proceeds from the Rubber Ducky River Race from earlier this year. A member of the swim team and a Parks Division representative will throw the first pitch.  The Madison Parks staff will also sing 'Take Me Out to the Ballgame" and have Madison Parks Trivia.

The Meriter and Physicians Plus Backyard seating area behind left-center field has grass seating area for 400-500 people, an elevated field level view of the game, and a family atmosphere.

Tickets are on sale for the 7:05 p.m. game and cost $8 per person. $1 of each ticket sold is donated to the Madison Parks Foundation, the YMCA of Dane County, and the Boys & Girls Club of Dane County.
