Road Home Inches Closer To Phase 2 Housing Plan | Community Spirit

A group dedicated to helping homeless families with children, is inching closer to a huge goal on the city's north side.
The Road Home Dane County renovated 15 apartments for families since its housing and hope campaign started in 2007.
Group members said they wanted to work on 15 more, but they didn't have the funds until philanthropist Mary Burke jumpstarted phase 2 with a $450,000 dollar donation. The group is just $85,000 shy of housing 15 more families.
"We believe the community will help us and we'll be able to reach the goal," said Road Home executive director Rachel Krinsk. "We're in the homestretch as we say so were almost touching it and we're working with our development partner meridian group to identify where the next site will be and get moving on phase 2."
