Local Arrival, Departure Delays Not Linked To Lambert Field Closure

The Dane County Regional Airport has seen just a handful of delays on Saturday morning, but they were not linked to the closure of Lambert Field in St. Louis, according to Brent McHenry from the Dane County Regional Airport.

Some air traffic has been rerouted due to the closure in St. Louis, but McHenry said the delays on Saturday were due to general weather issues and are not connected to the the tornadoes on Friday night in St. Louis.

Dane County Regional Airport does not offer direct flights to or from St. Louis, McHenry said.

Lambert Field was expected to reopen Sunday, two days after a strong tornado caused significant damage at the St. Louis airport.

St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay said the airport could be operating at 70 percent capacity starting Sunday, but will reopen only if power was restored. Power was expected to be back on on Saturday.
